All Time Formula 1 Grand Prix List

Every Formula 1 Grand Prix since 1950, in one place
This is a complete list of Formula 1 Grands Prix: every round of the FIA Formula One World Championship staged since the series began at Silverstone in 1950, right through to the 2026 season. Rather than a single calendar year, the table below indexes every distinct Grand Prix ever run for championship points, so you can see at a glance how many times each race has been held, when it first and last appeared, who won it most recently and which driver has won it most often. The list is generated directly from our own race database and refreshed after every round, so the figures stay current as the season unfolds.
The header numbers tell the headline story. The first World Championship Grand Prix was held in 1950. Across the seasons since, the championship has produced 1,158 races run under 55 distinct Grand Prix names, and the British Grand Prix leads the way as the most-held event of all, staged 77 times. Every row links straight through to our own profile pages for that Grand Prix, its host circuits and the drivers involved, something no other list of Formula One Grands Prix offers.
How this list defines a Grand Prix
This is where our index differs from the rest. We group editions by the official race title used in each era, not simply by host country. That distinction matters, because Formula 1 frequently renames its races. When the Brazilian Grand Prix became the São Paulo Grand Prix in 2021, or the Mexican Grand Prix became the Mexico City Grand Prix, the title changed even though the venue did not. We therefore list São Paulo and Brazilian as separate rows, and Mexico City and Mexican likewise, with each entry noting the years it applied. It is the most faithful way to reflect how the championship actually recorded its own history.
The same principle explains a few names that can surprise newcomers. The Indianapolis 500 counted towards the World Championship from 1950 to 1960 and appears here as a first-class entry, even though it was never styled a Grand Prix. Flag-of-convenience titles earn their own rows too: the moveable European Grand Prix, and the cluster of one-off names created during the disrupted 2020 season, when a compressed calendar produced the Styrian, Sakhir, Tuscan, Eifel and 70th Anniversary Grands Prix. Each was a genuine championship race carrying its own title, so each is counted as one. That is why a proper list of all F1 Grands Prix since 1950 runs to more names than most fans expect.
Reading the Status column
The Status column sorts every Grand Prix into one of three groups. Active races form part of the current-era calendar and are still being contested. Defunct races have dropped off the schedule, from long-lost fixtures such as the Swiss and French Grands Prix to more recent departures. One-off events were held for a single season only, the 2020 pandemic titles being the clearest example. Use the filter buttons to isolate any group, or sort by the GPs column to rank races by longevity: the British, Italian and Monaco Grands Prix sit at the very top as the sport's oldest continuous fixtures, each running almost without interruption since 1950. Between them, this reference covers every F1 Grand Prix the World Championship has ever crowned a winner at.
