The Österreichring, the original 5.911 km Styrian Alps high-speed circuit, hosted the Austrian Grand Prix from 1970 to 1987 on its long, flowing layout before being shortened by Hermann Tilke into the modern A1-Ring/Red Bull Ring. The original layout featured almost no slow corners and an average speed exceeding 250 km/h. The 1987 Austrian GP was the last F1 race before the circuit\'s major redesign.
