How the Predictor works

No bookmakers, no odds: every number comes from the F1-Fansite results database. Each driver gets a strength score from the factors below; the race is then simulated 10,000 times and we count how often each driver wins, finishes on the podium or scores points. It does not know about weather or reliability, and it says so. Grid penalties count as soon as the official starting grid is in.

60%Championship formPoints this season, relative to the leader.
40%Recent formThe last five finishes; a DNF counts as P20.
0%Starting gridHow often each grid slot has won over the last eight seasons. Joins after qualifying.

Before qualifying the model is honest about the odds: three or four candidates share most of the chance. After qualifying the grid takes over and the call sharpens.

Calibration this season: when it said 7%, it happened 0% of the time; when it said 15%, it happened 7% of the time.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I play the F1 quizzes?
Pick any quiz from the list above and answer its questions right here on the page. Each quiz is scored the moment you finish, and your result is saved to your profile and the all-time Quiz Champions leaderboard.
Do I need an account to play?
A free F1-Fansite account lets you save your score, appear on the leaderboard and take part in the podium-prediction game. Creating one takes a minute and keeps every result you earn.
How is the F1 quiz leaderboard scored?
The all-time Quiz Champions board ranks players by their combined score across every quiz they have completed, so consistent accuracy climbs higher than a single lucky round.
What is the F1 podium prediction game?
Before each Grand Prix you predict the top three finishers. Your prediction locks when the session starts and is scored automatically once the race is classified, building a season-long leaderboard.
How are podium predictions scored?
You score 3 points for every driver you place in exactly the right position, and 1 point for a driver who finishes on the podium but not where you predicted. Call all three correctly and you earn the Oracle badge.
Can I take a quiz more than once?
Each quiz counts once towards the ranked leaderboard, so your first completed run is the one that scores. Take your time and read every question before you answer.
