This season we won't be seeing this again.

Formula 1 originally unveiled its 24-race 2026 calendar on 10 June 2025, with a reshuffled schedule, the arrival of Madrid and the start of a new technical era for the sport.

The biggest change from 2025 is the disappearance of Imola, while Madrid joins the calendar with a new Spanish grand prix in September. Canada has moved forward to May, directly after Miami, as Formula 1 looks to improve the geographical flow of the season and reduce unnecessary freight movements. Monaco has consequently moved into June, with the Grand Prix taking place in that month for the first time since 2003.

The calendar changed significantly again in March when the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix were called off due to the ongoing situation in the Middle East. No replacement events were added at the time.

That changed on 26 July, when Formula 1 and the FIA announced that the Bahrain grand prix would instead be staged at Malaysia's Sepang International Circuit from 2 to 4 October. It brings F1 back to Sepang for the first time since 2017, when Max Verstappen won for Red Bull. Saudi Arabia remains off the calendar, leaving the 2026 season with 23 Grands Prix.

Sepang's addition also creates another demanding run of consecutive races. Azerbaijan, Malaysia and Singapore now form a triple-header, followed later in the season by Austin, Mexico City and São Paulo, before Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi complete the championship with another three races on successive weekends.

Six race weekends use the Sprint format in 2026: China, Miami, Canada, Great Britain, the Netherlands and Singapore. These events are marked with a yellow Sprint badge in the calendar below.
