Vettel pole, all four title challengers on the front two rows

Race day: Vettel commands, Hamilton and Massa clash
Vettel controlled the race from lights out, Button chasing throughout under Singapores lights but never able to close within striking distance. Webber third for Red Bull, Alonso fourth for Ferrari, Hamilton fifth after a collision with Massa that saw the Ferrari driver call Hamilton "stupid" over the radio. Di Resta a fine sixth for Force India. Button set the fastest lap on lap 54 at 1:48.454. Vettel did not clinch mathematically thanks to Buttons second place; he needed just one more point at Suzuka.
Championship: Vettel 309, Button 185, Alonso 184
Vettels lead was 124 points; the title would be sealed in Japan a fortnight later.
