2026 British Formula 1 Grand Prix: Starting Grid at Silverstone

Event: British F1 Grand Prix
Track: Silverstone circuit
Warm-up lap starts at: 15:00 Local | 16:.00 CET | 15:00 UK | 07:00 LA | 23:00 Tokyo
Kimi Antonelli will start the British grand prix from pole after completing a superb Silverstone Saturday, adding Grand Prix pole to his earlier Sprint victory with a near-perfect final lap. The Mercedes driver beat Charles Leclerc by 0.175s, putting Ferrari on the front row but leaving Lewis Hamilton to attack from third at his home race.
George Russell starts fourth alongside Hamilton, while Isack Hadjar produced one of the standout qualifying laps to take fifth ahead of Lando Norris. Max Verstappen lines up only seventh after a difficult session for Red Bull, with Oscar Piastri, and Liam Lawson completing a lively top ten on a grid that gives Sunday’s race plenty of bite.
Antonelli’s pole time was a striking 3.219s slower than Max Verstappen’s 2025 benchmark of 1m24.892s, a clear reminder of how much slower the 2026 cars are around Silverstone. It did not make the lap any less impressive, though. In gusty conditions and with track evolution still playing its part, Antonelli still had to produce the cleanest lap of the session when it mattered.

How the Predictor works
No bookmakers, no odds: every number comes from the F1-Fansite results database. Each driver gets a strength score from the factors below; the race is then simulated 10,000 times and we count how often each driver wins, finishes on the podium or scores points. It does not know about weather or reliability, and it says so. Grid penalties count as soon as the official starting grid is in.
Before qualifying the model is honest about the odds: three or four candidates share most of the chance. After qualifying the grid takes over and the call sharpens.
Calibration this season: when it said 7%, it happened 0% of the time; when it said 15%, it happened 7% of the time.

Pole time 3.2 seconds slower than last year after thousands of engine mileage testing ,pre season testing an half a season racing and adjusting the batteries, its been a total success,But Silverstone looks great
Yes, your right! Thanks! Improved the article just now. 3.2 sec! Are you kidding me?
Im afraid its not a joke
So your telling me that Alonso is over 8 sec. slower than the pole time of last year...WTF!! Did Honda really gave him the GP2 engine now or what!?
Antonelli's victory to lose.
Just watched the F2 race and, it was pretty bloody good,Red bull jnr, Nicky Stollencake drove really well, please let the F1 be as exciting
Started watching F1 again for the first season since Hamilton was robbed of his 8th world title. After the terrible end to British GP, won't bother any more. The 'sport' just can't apply common sense, and is wrapped up in its own geeky self importance and rules. Did Hamilton gain an advantage at the start? No. Did Antoneli gain an advantage exceeding track limits? No. Could the safety car have been brought in a lap or two earlier? Yes! Bad decision after bad decision from people who have no idea that the fans actually want to see, which is FAIR RACING! Its not a sport, it's a political facade. Rubbish, absolute rubbish.
Rules are rules , id have thought youd be overly happy the rules are being followed since Masi fixed it for Max to win in 21
