Kimi Antonelli's victory at the 2026 Spanish Grand Prix was the 251st Formula 1 win for a Mercedes engine. The milestone puts Mercedes tied for the all-time F1 record, with Ferrari engines also at 251 wins.
Only three engine manufacturers have reached the 175-win mark in Formula 1 history. Here is how they compare.
Ferrari – 251 Wins
Ferrari engines share the record for the most Formula 1 World Championship victories with Mercedes, on 251 wins apiece. Ferrari-powered cars have won with two constructors: Ferrari and Toro Rosso. Scuderia Ferrari claimed 249 of those victories, while Giancarlo Baghetti won the 1961 French Grand Prix in a privately entered Ferrari run by FISA. The remaining victory came courtesy of Sebastian Vettel, who won the 2008 Italian Grand Prix for Toro Rosso.
Mercedes – 251 Wins
Mercedes engines have reached 251 wins with four different constructors. The Mercedes works team leads the way with 141 victories from 355 starts, followed by McLaren with 101 wins from 478 starts. Brawn GP is also on the list with eight wins from just 17 starts.
Racing Point had Mercedes engines in 2020, when Sergio Pérez won in Sakhir. It was rebranded as BWT Mercedes, but it was effectively the same engine.
Ford Cosworth – 176 Wins
Ford engines have won with 15 different constructors, including victories achieved with the iconic DFV and other Ford engine iterations. The list features Lotus, McLaren, Tyrrell, Williams, Brabham, Benetton, Matra, Ligier, Wolf, March, Penske, Stewart, Jordan, Hesketh, and Shadow.
The legendary Ford-Cosworth DFV anchored this legacy as the single most successful engine design in Formula 1 history, amassing 155 of those victories and revolutionizing the sport through its stressed-member architecture and commercial availability to independent teams.
Ford engines have also powered 13 Drivers' Championships across their history, from Graham Hill in 1968 through to Michael Schumacher in 1994.
While Ferrari leads this table, both Mercedes and Ford have higher winning percentages. Ferrari engines have won 22% of their races, with Mercedes at 40% and Ford at 34%.
