Jenson BUTTON won his 6th F1 World Championship race at the 2009 Monaco F1 GP, a fifth win in six rounds for Brawn GP and Buttons first Monaco victory. The Brawn GP driver started from pole and won the streets of Monte Carlo by 7.666 seconds from teammate Rubens Barrichello for a Brawn GP 1-2. It was Brawn GPs 5th F1 win of the season.

Monaco on 24 May 2009 opened with Jenson Button taking pole with a 1:14.902 lap, Raikkonen second by 0.025 for Ferrari, Barrichello third for Brawn GP. Vettel fourth for Red Bull, Massa fifth for Ferrari.

Race day: Button lights-to-flag on Monaco streets

Button controlled the race throughout and won by 7.666 seconds from Barrichello for a Brawn GP 1-2. Raikkonen third for Ferrari, Massa fourth, Webber fifth for Red Bull. Massa set the fastest lap on lap 50 with a 1:15.154.

Championship: Button 51, Barrichello 35, Webber 19.5

Button extended his championship lead to 16 points over Barrichello. Turkey in a fortnight would be next.
