1961 F1 Championship Standings
Phil Hill clinched his first and only Formula 1 World Drivers' Championship in 1961 with 34 points, taking two wins, six podiums and five pole positions along the way. The American driver finished just one point clear of his teammate, Wolfgang von Trips. The team of both drivers, Ferrari, also took their first Constructors' Championship with 40 points and five race wins.
Hill wrapped up the title with one round to spare, at the Italian Grand Prix (round 7 of 8), while his team Ferrari had already secured the Constructors' crown two rounds earlier, at the British Grand Prix (round 5 of 8).
