Marko VS Stewart about Vettel
Dr Helmut Marko has hit out at F1 legend Sir Jackie Stewart for comments made about Sebastian Vettel.
Stewart suggested that Vettel's title loss this year, as a result of driver errors, indicates the Ferrari driver is past his prime.
"Vettel's mistakes were not about mental weakness," Marko, the Red Bull driver manager who discovered the German, told Auto Bild.
"It was bad luck. In all of those duels, the other driver could easily have been the one who spun.
"To claim that he is past his zenith at the age of 30 is just nonsense," Marko said.
"A four time world champion doesn't forget how to drive. Seb will come back for sure.
"It's like Max Verstappen, who was criticised early this season and came back stronger than ever," he added.

I have no love lost for Marko, primarily on account of his treatment of Kvyat. However, I give him credit for speaking up for Vettel, who not only did not win the championship, but is jumped on by everybody and his brother in law for not doing so.

Agreed, Jackie Stewart dragged safety into F1,while everybody in the business bleated about danger being part of the glamour.

I am glad Marko thinks Seb has not passed it yet as he knows him well and expects him to get into winning ways with his Ferrari but we also know that Max will join the race to the top next year if Honda supplies Red Bull with good and reliable engines. We can expect a real battle at the top.
Jackie Stewart should stay away from the F1 of today with those comments and change his pants.
He is one of yesterday and begins to deteriorate with his behavior. Sebastian has done more for the F1 enthusing people of all ages. He is a very educated and intelligent individual and not a showman.
Stewart needs to think a little because he is quite caustic in his views from time to time. He may have had a poor season but Seb is still a class act and if Ferrari continue the way they've done in the last few races he's got to be a big contender next year.
Stewart is the only person who needs to carry toilet paper to wipe his mouth after he says anything
