Gasly Signs Alpine Deal Through 2028

Pierre Gasly has committed his future to Alpine with a contract extension running through the end of the 2028 season. The French driver secured his long-term position with the Enstone-based team after completing his first full season following the move from AlphaTauri in 2023.

The 28-year-old driver joined Alpine at the start of 2023. His retention signals Alpine's confidence in building around experienced drivers as they work toward their stated goal of championship contention by the end of the decade.

Contract Details and Timeline

Gasly's original Alpine deal covered 2023 and 2024. The new extension runs through 2028 and was announced during the summer break. Team principal Bruno Famin called Gasly "integral to our long-term vision" in the official announcement.

The timing allows both driver and team to focus on development without contract negotiations. Alpine made the announcement after Gasly completed 34 races with the team across two seasons.

Gasly's Alpine Performance Analysis

Since joining Alpine, Gasly has scored 62 points across 34 race starts through the 2024 Belgian Grand Prix. He finished 73% of races in the points-paying positions when the car performed competitively. His qualifying record with Alpine shows an average grid position of 8.4.

During his time at AlphaTauri, his final seasons produced an average qualifying position of 9.1. His best result with Alpine came at the 2023 Hungarian Grand Prix where he finished third.

Gasly has completed two full seasons with Alpine after spending five years with the Red Bull family teams. He made 112 starts with AlphaTauri and Toro Rosso between 2017 and 2022, scoring 350 points during that period.

His career includes one Grand Prix victory, achieved at the 2020 Italian Grand Prix while driving for AlphaTauri. That race marked his first and only F1 win to date.
