Kimi Raikkonen won the 2018 US F1 GP today. He won the 2018 US Formula 1 Grand Prix for the first time in his career. It was his 21st formula 1 race win, his 1st win of the 2018 season and the 235th F1 victory for Ferrari.
The start of the US F1 Grand Prix was clean. Kimi Raikkonen who started on Ultrasoft tyres had more grip then Lewis Hamilton on the Supersoft tyres and passed the championship leader in turn 1 for the lead.
Sebastian Vettel started on P4 and also had a good start and attacked 3rd place driver Daniel Ricciardo in lap 1. He overtook the Australian driver on the straight, but Vettel out-braked himself In turn 12 and he Vettel touched Ricciardo's Red Bull with his Ferrari in turn 13 and spun his car. He came back on P13 and had to fight his was back to the front.
In lap 9 Ricciardo retired his Red Bull in turn 12 and caused a virtual safety car in which Hamilton did his pitstop for Soft tyres.
In lap 22 Raikkonen pitted for Soft tyres and gave Hamilton the lead of the race. Bottas and Verstappen also pitted a lap later and Verstappen overtook Bottas for P3 with an undercut.
In lap 38 Hamilton had to pit for new Soft tyres because his tyres had huge blisters. The end of the race was the most exciting since a long time. In the penultimate lap we saw a great fight between Hamilton and Verstappen.
