The Detroit street circuit, winding through the downtown streets of Detroit, Michigan around the Renaissance Center, hosted the Detroit Grand Prix from 1982 to 1988. The 4.023 km, 17-corner layout was widely disliked by drivers for its dirty surface, raised manhole covers, and lack of overtaking, but produced unpredictable results due to the high attrition rate.
