Early Life and Inspiration

Born on September 28, 2004, in Paris, Isack Hadjar's fascination with motorsport ignited after watching the animated film "Cars." This cinematic experience, combined with his father's passion for Formula 1, led young Isack to delve into the world of racing. At the age of seven, his parents gifted him a go-kart, marking the beginning of his journey on the tracks.

>Karting Beginnings

Hadjar commenced his karting career in 2012, participating in national competitions across France. By 2018, he had advanced to international circuits, competing in the CIK-FIA European OK Junior Championship.

Transition to Single-Seaters

French F4 Championship

In 2019, Hadjar transitioned to single-seater racing, debuting in the French F4 Championship. He secured a victory at Spa-Francorchamps and concluded the season seventh overall. The following year, he improved his performance, achieving three wins and finishing third in the championship standings.

Formula Regional European Championship

The year 2021 saw Hadjar competing in the Formula Regional European Championship with R-ace GP. He clinched his maiden victory on the streets of Monaco and amassed multiple podium finishes, culminating in a fifth-place overall ranking and earning the title of best rookie.

Climbing the Ladder: Formula 3 and Formula 2

FIA Formula 3 Championship

Joining Hitech Grand Prix in 2022, Hadjar made an immediate impact in the FIA Formula 3 Championship. He secured three victories, including a notable win in Bahrain, and consistently challenged for the title, ultimately finishing fourth in the standings.

FIA Formula 2 Championship

>Promoted to the FIA Formula 2 Championship in 2023 with Hitech Grand Prix, Hadjar faced a challenging rookie season, finishing 14th overall. However, his perseverance paid off in 2024 when he joined Campos Racing. Demonstrating remarkable skill and determination, he secured four wins and concluded the season as the runner-up, narrowly missing the championship title.

Hadjar's impressive trajectory caught the attention of the Formula 1 community. On December 20, 2024, Racing Bulls announced his appointment to their 2025 driver lineup, partnering with Yuki Tsunoda. This promotion made Hadjar the third French driver on the 2025 F1 grid, alongside Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon.

Reflecting on his ascent, Hadjar remarked, "The journey from karting through the ranks in single-seaters, to now being in Formula One is the moment I've been working towards my whole life, it is the dream."

As he embarks on this new chapter with Racing Bulls, the motorsport world keenly anticipates the impact of this young talent on the pinnacle of racing.

Hadjar's rookie season started badly, as he crashed in the rain before the first race in Australia. However, he recovered from that mental difficulty and showed his talent.

He scored points consistently and secured his first F1 podium at Zandvoort, finishing third after qualifying fourth for the 2025 Dutch Grand Prix. Hadjar finished his rookie season in 12th place with 51 points.

Red Bull Racing

Hadjar was promoted to Red Bull for the 2026 F1 season, as the teammate of four-time World Champion Max Verstappen. The Frenchman qualified third in the 2026 Australian GP, his first race with Red Bull, but did not finish due to a mechanical issue.

In his fifth race with Red Bull, at Canada, Hadjar finished fifth. Then, he finished third in Monaco, scoring his first podium with Red Bull. However, the result is controversial, as he initially finished fourth on the road and inherited P3 due to Alpine's Pierre Gasly being penalised for exceeding the pit-lane speed limit.

FIA delays ADUO ruling as Red Bull challenges engine rankings

Five days after the race, the FIA stewards rescinded Gasly's penalties, giving him third place again. Many penalties of the same nature were handed out throughout the race, but the FIA ultimately took the blame, as their systems allegedly failed.

On 3 September 2026, the FIA International Court of Appeal announced that after appeals from McLaren and Red Bull, Gasly's penalties were reinstated and he fell to seventh place again. This new change promoted Hadjar to third place again.

After Monaco, Gasly went on a good run, finishing in the Top 6 in five straight races, pushing his Top-6 streak to seven events. However, Hadjar returned from the summer break with a wrist injury caused during a boxing training session.

The injury kept him on the sidelines for the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix, with Racing Bulls' Liam Lawson taking his seat for the race. A couple of weeks later, at Monza, Lawson again drove for Red Bull as Hadjar, while progressing well from his injury, remained out.

Hadjar also missed the Spanish GP in Madrid, before returning to his car in Azerbaijan. There, he outqualified Verstappen and finished third in the race, achieving his second Red Bull podium and the third of his career.
