Imola's F1 Future: What Fans Need to Know
Jun.11 - Imola has been dropped from the Formula 1 calendar - but the iconic Italian venue is not giving up. At Tuesday's meeting of the World Motor Sport Council in Macau, the..
On the 10th of June F1 was ready to announced this 2026 F1 race calendar below.
The 2026 calendar has a few changes. It introduces a new race venue compared to the 2024 season. Canada has replaced Imola (Emelia Romagna) but has been placed on the spot of Monaco. The Monaco Grand Prix will be held in June for the first time since 2003. All other tracks from 2024 are present in 2025 and the total number of races at stays at 24.
The 2025 race schedule will have 6 back-to-back races and two triple headers. The season starts with a back to back race again for Australia and China, which is a huge distance. The other back-to-back races are Bahrain & Saudi Arabia, Monaco & Spain, Austria & Great Britain, Belgium & Hungary and Italy & Madrid. The 2026 season ends with two triple headers of the six last races.
Without new races added, the FIA and Formula 1 seem to be focusing on refining the existing schedule rather than expanding the number of venues. This could indicate a priority for enhancing the quality of the events and managing the environmental footprint of the sport.
Untill now it's unknown which race weekends will have the Sprint format.
