In 1955, Stirling Moss led a Mercedes 1-2-3-4 at Silverstone for his maiden win, also becoming the first British driver to win the race.

In the 1955 British GP, Moss won behind the wheel of the legendary Mercedes W196, which Juan Manuel Fangio drove to the World Drivers' Championship in 1954 and 1955.
