Red Bull's F1 car for 2025

The Red Bull RB21 arrived as the final evolution of the aerodynamic concept that had defined the 2022 regulation era. After the competitive challenges of 2024, when McLaren claimed the Constructors' Championship and rivals significantly narrowed the gap, the RB21 represented Red Bull's determination to return to the front of the grid in the final year of the current technical rules.

The 2025 season brought a significant change to Red Bull's driver lineup. After a difficult 2024 campaign, Sergio Perez was replaced by Yuki Tsunoda, who stepped up from the sister RB Formula 1 team. Max Verstappen remained the cornerstone of Red Bull's championship challenge, aiming to secure a fifth consecutive World Drivers' Championship title.

The RB21 was unveiled ahead of the 2025 season and continued the push-rod front and pull-rod rear suspension philosophy that Red Bull had employed throughout the ground-effect era. Technical director Pierre Waché and the aerodynamic team focused on recovering lost performance in the areas where rivals had made the greatest strides during 2024, targeting improved correlation between simulation and circuit performance.

Red Bull entered 2025 fully aware that the competitive landscape had shifted. McLaren, Ferrari, and Mercedes all arrived with significantly strengthened machinery, making the 2025 campaign one of the most fiercely contested seasons under the 2022 regulations. The RB21, powered by the RBPTH002, Red Bull's Honda-derived power unit, was charged with fighting for both championships while the engineering team simultaneously developed their next-generation power unit for 2026.

The 2025 season also marked the final chapter for the current generation of regulations before the sweeping changes of 2026. For Red Bull, the RB21 was an opportunity to sign off the era on a high note, and to build confidence heading into their new Ford partnership for the 2026 power unit programme.
