Former driver Jean Alesi has applauded Ferrari for sticking with Kimi Raikkonen next season.
The Finn struggled in 2015 alongside Sebastian Vettel and reports suggested Valtteri Bottas would replace him next year.
However, Ferrari handed the 2007 world champion a new contract and Alesi thinks he could help Vettel win his fifth title next year.
“In this team what makes the performance is like in football, even if you have Maradona but if he is not surrounded by good players, he cannot score,” said Alesi.
"In F1, it is the same, the group spirit is very important and with Raikkonen, he has nothing to prove. The only thing he can is to help Vettel to be world championship."
Raikkonen will look for a fast start to the new season when the campaign kicks off in Australia next March.
