F1 Grid Penalty Watch
Every driver below has already served a grid penalty for changing power unit elements.
On this page you can see how many power unit elements each driver has used during the 2026 Formula 1 season. The number of elements allowed per car is limited: in 2026 each car may use 4 ICE, 4 TC, 4 EX, 3 MGU-K, 3 ES, 3 CE and 6 PU-ANC without a penalty. Exceed that and the driver takes a grid penalty at the next race. Lance Stroll has taken the most, 6 elements beyond the allowance.
A red circle means the driver is over the allowance for that element, an amber one that he is exactly on it. A dark ring marks the elements added during the most recent event.

- ICE = Internal Combustion Engine (max. 4 without penalty)
- TC = Turbo Charger (max. 4 without penalty)
- EX = Exhaust System (max. 4 without penalty)
- MGU-K = Motor Generator Unit - Kinetic (max. 3 without penalty)
- ES = Energy Store (max. 3 without penalty)
- CE = Control Electronics (max. 3 without penalty)
- PU-ANC = Power Unit Ancillary component (max. 6 without penalty)
Grid penalties served
6 grid penalties have been handed out for power unit changes this season.
If the total grid penalty exceeds 15 places, the driver starts from the back of the grid, regardless of the combined penalty.
