One F1 fan comment on “F1 Nation's Review of the 2025 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix

I had to turn off the Saudi race. It wasn't for lack of action on the track.

It was for the reprehensible toxic narrative that both Crusty and Blunder got up to WRT Verstappen's pass on the first corner on the first lap.

Blunder's comment about Max "gaming the system" was the point of no return. This was the line of commentary that infected the entire viewing experience up to that point. Blunder went on to suggest that the 5-second penalty wasn't enough. Well, what more would you want FFS? Disqualification?

ANY time there is a non-British contender for the Crown, these two are up in arms and automatically embark on a vitriolic and constant criticism of the driver and by extension the whole team are wanting.

I wish to Christ that David Coulthard was the primary narrator. His witty and insightful commentary made watching the race an enjoyable experience. Balanced, dry tounge-in-cheek humor reflected his vast experience in F1 racing and broadened and deepened the appreciation for the race.

Crusty is has NO competitive racing experience and it shows in hi9s superficial and biased calling of the race - and half the time or more, his prattle has little or nothing to do the events on-track.

While Blunder, though an experienced F1 driver, gets pulled into Crusty's racist and xenophobic view of the paddock. His hatred of Max was clearly on display on Sunday.

And they pick cameos from the pit lane by Principles that have never demonstrated a balanced view of the world - like the ghastly Principle at McLaren.

I long for a more balanced, race-centric mode of calling a race. Not a constant drum-beat of invective and vitriol spewing out of the mouths of Crusty and Blunder.
