Kimi Raikkonen says he was pleasantly surprised with the pace of his Ferrari following a frustrating first day in Malaysia.
The Finn finished fourth in the second practice session, almost a second slower than pacesetter Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes and 0.2s off team-mate Sebastian Vettel.
But Raikkonen insists he did not feel good out in the Sepang heat, which leaves him feeling positive ahead of qualifying tomorrow.
"We didn't have a good feeling all day and I'm sure we can regroup tomorrow," Raikkonen told reporters.
"I'm surprised how decent the lap times were when the feeling was far from what I want.
"It was quite a messy day and not very smooth at all. It was a bit tricky.
"We have to sit down and look things through. The feeling wasn't good, but the lap time wasn't disastrous."
