The following are some of the most interesting things about the Monte Carlo race track that you must know if you a true

fan of formula one racing:

  • The Monaco Grand Prix circuit was once called “an exceptional location of glamour and prestige”, which is quite fitting. This is because the track, which is already pretty narrow, also has a number of elevation changes and sharp corners. Plus, there is a tunnel too. All these things make it a really challenging track to race on and so offers the utmost thrill and entertainment for the F1 fans.
  • Lotus earned their first win as a constructor in the Monaco Grand Prix in 1960.

  • The first Monaco Grand Prix race was held on April 14, 1929. However, it didn’t enjoy a good reception. It was an invitation-only event but many of those who were invited decided not to go, including the drivers of Alfa Romeo and Maserati. The race was won by William Grover who drove a works Bugatti Type 35B. Interestingly, the car later became one of the most expensive in the world after it was sold for 2.5 million pounds!
