In this episode of the F1 Explains podcast, Christian Hewgill sits down with former F1 driver and F1TV pundit [Jolyon Palmer](https://www.f1-fansite.com/f1-drivers/jolyon-palmer-information-statistics/) to break down the fundamental differences between high-speed and low-speed circuits.

The pair explore the distinct challenges each track type presents to drivers, and how car setup and driving style must adapt to tackle Monza's sweeping curves versus the tight confines of [Monaco](https://www.f1-fansite.com/f1-calendar/monaco-grand-prix/).

Palmer also shares insight into how teams balance downforce levels and mechanical grip, and why a driver's approach to braking and throttle application changes dramatically between the two extremes. It's a technical yet accessible guide to understanding what makes a circuit fast or slow—and how drivers extract the most from their cars.
